Dead by Daylight is revealing what players can expect from the upcoming Sinister Grace update, including a new killer and a new survivor. The Dead by Daylight update takes its cues from Thai folklore this time around.
Over the years, Dead by Daylight has grown dramatically, introducing plenty of new killers and survivors to keep players involved and excited. Though Dead by Daylight is now approaching its 10th anniversary, it doesn't seem to show any signs of slowing down.
Dead by Daylight Introduces Thai Survivor and Folklore Killer
Now, Dead by Daylight has revealed what fans can expect from the Sinister Grace update. The new Dead by Daylight killer is called the Krasue; a monster that can shift between a relatively normal-looking woman and a disembodied head with entrails hanging from its neck. Though the Krasue is based upon an entity in actual folklore, in this rendition, the killer was originally a woman named Burong Sukapat who made a deal that transformed her into this creature. Meanwhile, players will get to choose a new Survivor called Vee Boonyasak, who is a drummer in a band called Axekick.
In terms of abilities, both the Krasue and Boonyasak come with their own skillset. Those playing The Krasue will be able to switch between two forms: a floating head with an Intestinal Whip attack, and her human form, where she has a vomit attack that weakens players' defense against her other form's Intestinal Whip. For her Perks, The Krasue receives Hex: Overture of Doom, which puts a curse on the farthest Generator, putting Survivors who attempt to repair it into a panic, and making the killer Undetectable. Ravenous kicks in after hooking each Dead by Daylight Survivor at least once, causing the Survivors to scream and receive the Exposed status. Lastly, Wandering Eye shows the aura of all nearby Survivors while the Killer is chasing a Survivor, allowing players to potentially go after easier targets.
With her band background, Vee Boonyasak sounds to be something like a bard in Dead by Daylight. She receives Ghost Notes as her first perk, allowing her to recover from Exhaustion more quickly and causing Scratch Marks to disappear faster. Her ONE-TWO-THREE-FOUR! perk creates a performance that invigorates teammates and empowers them "with a slew of Skill Checks." Finally, Road Life gives players Tokens if they complete a Repair Great Skill Check while injured. The tokens can be used to heal a Health State.
Players can check out these new characters in the Dead by Daylight PTB right away. They'll join the standard game in late September, when patch 9.2.0 releases.
