ARC Raiders players looking for places to use their keycards have a helpful new tool at their disposal, thanks to the hard work of one dedicated player. Keycards are a type of item players will run into a lot during their time with ARC Raiders, and knowing where they can be put to use can save a lot of search time.
The popularity of ARC Raiders has made the extraction shooter an instant hit following its official release on October 30, with the game registering a peak of more than 459,000 consecutive players on Steam and continuing to see regular daily peaks above 300,000 close to a month after launch. That surge of player activity has ARC Raiders beating games like Helldivers 2 and Battlefield 6, and Steam Charts currently recognizes it as the fourth most-played game during the last 30 days on the platform.
ARC Raiders Fan Makes Helpful Interactive Keycard Use Map
ARC Raiders can find keycards scattered throughout the game, which can be used to access locked doors, containers, and other restricted areas. In an effort to quell any confusion over how to use these keycards, Reddit user pRoDeeD has put together a free single-page PDF guide that pinpoints the location of every locked door in the game and which keycards they will need to have in their inventory to open each one, along with providing links to video walkthroughs for finding each of these locations. Conveniently breaking down the list by dividing the point-of-interest locations among each of ARC Raiders' maps, the reference tool shows the locations where 20 different standard key cards can be used in the game. Each map is denoted with four locations where keycards will come in handy, save for the Dam Battlegrounds map, which has twice as many.
There are a couple of different ways that players can obtain most keycards in ARC Raiders. Probably the most effective method is by finding them in random loot drops from containers, as areas with high loot value seem to provide a better chance at picking one up. Alternatively, players can also participate in ARC Raiders' PvP action while keycard hunting.
One particular type of keycard that's more accessible than others is Arc Raiders' Raider Hatch Key, which can be crafted at a Utility Station for the cost of six ARC Alloy and 50 Plastic Parts. Alternatively, players have the option of just buying a Raider Hatch Key for 9,000 coins from Shani at Speranza once they have reached Level 12, or they can hunt for them in Raider Stashes that are dispersed throughout the game's world. Raider Hatch Keys are particularly useful for players who are looking to exit maps quickly with all their loot intact. The interactive map tool highlights some of the locations where Raider Hatch Keys can be used, but players can also find these locations on their own through the in-game map, where they are denoted similarly to regular extraction zones but also marked by a special downwards arrow icon.
The interactive map tool is currently up-to-date, including the game's newest map, Stella Montis, which was released as part of ARC Raiders' North Line update in mid-November and gives players a high-altitude condensed battlefield filled with choke points and close-quarters action. Embark Studios hasn't revealed any other specific maps that are planned to come down the pipeline anytime soon, but more are likely on the way, and the developers have forecasted that a free update planned for December is likely to at least include some new map conditions. It seems like the creator of the interactive keycard map has plans to continue updating it as more content is added to the game, as its interface includes a link to download the latest version.
