Dec 01, 2025

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet unveiled that the next Seven-Star Tera Raid battle will pit trainers against Dragapult the Unrivaled. However, the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid battle is the last one of a year-long campaign, as Dragapult is the final pseudo-legendary monster to be featured as a Tera Raid boss.

Known as the Stealth Pokemon, Dragapult first appeared in Pokemon Sword and Shield as the pseudo-legendary monster of the Galar region. Dragapult is the final evolved form of the Dreepy line, as it evolves from Drakloak starting at level 60. Dragapult is a Ghost and Dragon dual-type creature, and is known for its high speed and attack statistics. However, Dragapult's power is offset by low defenses compared to other pseudo-legendary Pokemon like Dragonite and Garchomp, making it a glass cannon. Dragapult's signature attack is Dragon Darts, which shoots two Dreepy mounted on each side to deal damage to multiple targets.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Dragapult Tera Raid Details (December 2025)

Following the end of the Goodra Tera Raid battle window, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will have another tough test to contend with. According to Serebii.net, Dragapult the Unrivaled will appear in Seven-Star Tera Raid battle dens starting Thursday, December 4, at 7:00 PM Eastern, and ending Sunday, December 7, at 6:59 PM Eastern. Pokemon trainers who miss out during the first weekend of December will have another chance from December 11 to 14. Dragapult the Unrivaled will have the Dragon-type as it's Tera type, and will grant the Mightiest Mark to any Pokemon that defeats it. However, the imminent arrival of Dragapult the Unrivaled will mark the end of a year-long campaign in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that was announced several months ago.

Dragapult the Unrivaled Heralds the End of a Year-Long Saga

During the February 2025 Pokemon Day festivities, The Pokemon Company stated that most of the year's Seven-Star Tera Raid battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet would feature pseudo-legendary Pokemon from across the entire franchise. Powerful iterations of Dragonite, Metagross, and similar Pokemon appeared in Seven-Star Tera Raid dens throughout Paldea, and each gave trainers a different challenge to take on. For example, Tyranitar forced Pokemon trainers to develop clever strategies to beat it, while the raw power of foes like Garchomp proved to be tough challenges for even the most seasoned Pokemon battlers.

In July 2025, the seven-star Tera Raid battle campaign that featured generations of pseudo-legendary Pokemon went on a four-month hiatus. This break was due to other Pokemon Scarlet and Violet events, such as the Shiny Treasures of Ruin and the controversial Shiny Koraidon and Miraidon distribution event, that took place throughout the summer and fall. By November 2025, the pseudo-legendary campaign resumed with Hydreigon the Unrivaled's appearance. With the arrival of Dragapult, this marks the end of a year-long Tera Raid campaign for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. However, that does not mean that Dragapult is the final Seven-Star Tera Raid boss, as The Pokemon Company could still surprise Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players with additional Tera Raid content at any time.

What Pokemon Will Work Against Dragapult?

Dragapult the Unrivaled will have one of three abilities, all of which can be annoying for Pokemon trainers to deal with. For its standard abilities, Clear Body negates stat reduction from moves and abilities, while Infiltrator allows Dragapult to ignore Reflect or Light Screen and deal full damage. However, Dragapult's hidden ability, Cursed Body, can cause an attacking Pokemon's moves to be temporarily disabled, which could make beating the clock a tall task. Moves like Skill Swap and Gastro Acid are recommended to negate the effects of Dragapult's ability, no matter which one it gets to use during the upcoming battle.

Although Dragon-type Pokemon are weak to Ice and Dragon attacks, Dragapult the Unrivaled can use moves to counter those two weaknesses. However, Dragapult has no coverage against Fairy-type Pokemon, making it the safest type to use against the Stealth Pokemon. This is due to the fact that Fairy Pokemon are immune to Dragon Darts and other Dragon-type moves. Plus, Fairy-type attacks like Moonblast deal super-effective damage to draconic foes. Critters like Sylveon, Primarina, and Galarian Weezing could prove handy against Dragapult the Unrivaled. Time will tell which strategies Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will develop against Dragapult.
