Xbox Launches Buy 1 Get 2 Free Sale for September 2025

Xbox recently began a new Buy 1, Get 2 Free sale for September 2025 that includes tons of different indie titles. With popular cult classics like Choo-Choo Charles included in this sale, Xbox gamers can use this deal to pick up a curated collection of indie games at an affordable price.

If there is one thing Xbox gamers have no shortage of, it is ways to pick up new games without spending too much money. Between gaining access to tons of games through Xbox Game Pass and myriad sales, there are often ways to bulk up one’s backlog without breaking the bank.

Xbox Buy 1, Get 2 Free Indie Game Sale (September 2025)

Now, Microsoft has begun yet another promotion that fans of indie games won’t want to miss out on. From now until September 23, players can partake in a new Buy 1, Get 2 Free deal on Xbox to purchase three games for the price of one. This time, the list consists primarily of indie titles, including fan-favorites like Choo-Choo Charles, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, and Bugsnax, along with tons of other small-studio games that would be strong additions to any collection.

To find these deals, one needs only boot up their Xbox console of choice and navigate to the “Deals” section, where they will find the “Buy 1, Get 2 Free” section. From there, simply select the three games and check out as normal. Keep in mind that the most expensive game will be the one players will have to purchase, with the other two of equal or lesser value obtained at no extra cost.

This isn’t the first time Xbox has done a Buy 1, Get 2 Free sale – but it may be one of the most affordable ones. For example, the Xbox BOGT sale from February contained several AAA games like Hogwarts Legacy, but only in their expensive digital deluxe editions. While frugal gamers could pick from the sparse list of cheap games, this new sale contains dozens of inexpensive indie titles, with few even reaching the $30 mark.

Of note, some of the games included in this deal are also available for free via the Xbox Game Pass. While fans could technically add these games to their libraries permanently, they may want to avoid these titles in favor of ones they otherwise might not have the ability to play for free through other means.
