Blizzard recently attempted to fix a bugged defensive enchantment in Diablo 4, but the latest patch appears to have created an even bigger issue. Instead of balancing the game, the update has unintentionally made certain players nearly immortal through the powerful Aspect of Glynn’s Anvil enchantment.
The issue began after the release of Diablo 4’s latest expansion, *Lord of Hatred*. The expansion introduced new classes, endgame improvements, a fresh campaign, and several gameplay additions. One of the most notable additions was the Aspect of Glynn’s Anvil, a defensive Legendary Aspect that provides Damage Reduction based on a player’s Resolve stacks.
Originally, the enchantment was designed to grant up to eight Resolve stacks, with each stack increasing Damage Reduction significantly. However, players quickly discovered that the enchantment was not functioning properly after launch, as it failed to provide the full defensive bonuses intended by Blizzard.
To address the issue, Blizzard released patch 3.0.2. Surprisingly, the update seems to have broken the system even further. Players can now bypass the eight-stack limit entirely and equip the Aspect of Glynn’s Anvil across multiple gear pieces, creating absurd levels of Toughness and Damage Reduction.
As a result, some players have reported Toughness stats exceeding 53 million, while others claim to have crossed the 100 million mark with optimized builds. For comparison, even 2 million Toughness is usually more than enough to survive Torment 12 difficulty in Diablo 4. With these new numbers, many characters have effectively become untouchable.
The exploit has quickly become popular among players experimenting with overpowered builds and aggressive strategies. Since defense is no longer a concern, players are focusing entirely on maximizing damage output while effortlessly defeating difficult bosses, including Torment 12 Mephisto.
Among all classes, Druids appear to benefit the most from the exploit due to their strong Resolve-stacking capabilities. Their synergy with Glynn’s Anvil allows them to achieve the highest Toughness levels currently reported by the community.
Not every class can take advantage of the bug, however. Sorcerers and Warlocks are currently unable to use the Aspect of Glynn’s Anvil, leaving them out of the chaos entirely.
At the moment, Blizzard has not confirmed whether the enchantment will be nerfed or fixed again. Although the game has already received another small update after patch 3.0.2, the immortality issue remains untouched. Many players believe it is only a matter of time before Blizzard steps in and removes the exploit.
For now, Diablo 4 fans are rushing to obtain Glynn’s Anvil and enjoy the overpowered gameplay while it lasts. The timing is especially exciting as Blizzard is also preparing upcoming anniversary celebrations for Diablo 4, with new events and rewards expected to arrive in June.
Until Blizzard responds, players are continuing to dominate the game with one of the wildest accidental buffs Diablo 4 has seen so far.
