The Animus Hub entry for the upcoming Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced features a major callback to the original game. The Ubisoft franchise's digital hub references one of the most iconic pieces of key art from Assassin's Creed Black Flag.

The Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake was one of the biggest rumors in gaming before its official reveal. Rumors began to circulate about the remake's existence as early as 2024, with Resynced among multiple rumored Assassin's Creed remakes. Ubisoft officially revealed Black Flag Resynced on April 23 with a full showcase of the remake, teasing new side stories for a plethora of supporting characters, a new chapter, dynamic weather, and lots more. Now, fans have discovered a clever nod to the original Assassin's Creed Black Flag in the game's Animus Hub listing.

Black Flag Resynced References Original Game on Animus Hub

Following the official announcement of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, a new listing for the game was added to the Animus Hub. The image of Edward Kenway featured in the Animus Hub recreates one of the most well-known pieces of key art from the original Black Flag, with Kenway holding his gun to his chest and his wrist blade drawn. Community account Access The Animus shared that fans can find the listing right now by accessing the Animus Hub on Assassin's Creed Shadows, originally discovered by fellow fan account AC: Landmarks. Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is scheduled to officially launch on July 9.

The remake of Assassin's Creed Black Flag is slated to add some big upgrades from the original game. Ubisoft confirmed parkour will see changes to implement more natural movements, while maintaining similar animations to Edward Kenway's first appearance. Major adjustments will be made to the missions from the original game, specifically citing different outcomes for tailing missions if a player fails to tail or eavesdrop on their target. Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is even making adjustments to the popular combat mechanics from the original game, though Ubisoft confirmed it will not be adding RPG mechanics.

While Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will feature many improvements, fans have noticed some cut content from the original game. Creative director Paul Fu confirmed that the remake will not include the multiplayer gameplay from Assassin's Creed Black Flag, stating that the decision was made to put more focus on its main story campaign. Black Flag Resynced will also not bring back the original game's DLC content, notably excluding the standalone Freedom Cry expansion.

Resynced is set to be one of the franchise's biggest upcoming releases, though it may not be the only remake on the way. Ubisoft insider Tom Henderson recently suggested that the company is working on another Assassin's Creed remake, subtly suggesting that it will be one of the franchise's earliest games. Further leaks have suggested that the original Assassin's Creed may be the mystery game in question, allowing fans to relive the first adventure of Altair Ibn-La'Ahad. Assassin's Creed fans should have plenty to look forward to in the coming months, with multiple exciting new games in the works.
