Arc Raiders Just Sold 12 Million Copies — Embark Rewards Players with a Free Gold Hammer

Arc Raiders is officially a huge hit. Embark Studios has confirmed that the game has sold 12 million copies across all platforms since launching on October 30, 2025, lining up perfectly with recent analyst estimates.

To celebrate, Embark is handing out a free gold raider hammer to all players. Funny enough, this reward was originally planned for hitting 10 million players, but the holiday rush sent Arc Raiders flying past that number before the team could even blink.

Getting the gold hammer is easy. You just need to log into Arc Raiders once before January 13, 2026 (before midnight CET / 6pm ET / 3pm PT). If you’ve already played, congrats—you’re already covered. The hammer will show up in your in-game mail on January 13.

Embark’s executive producer Aleksander Grøndal gave a shout-out to the community, saying the game wouldn’t be what it is without the players.

“The community of raiders has helped shape this game from day one,” Grøndal said. “Your feedback, passion, and creativity keep pushing us forward as we grow this world.”

Arc Raiders design lead Virgil Watkins also weighed in during a chat with GamesRadar+, saying the game’s success feels both exciting and a little overwhelming.

“It’s probably a bit of both,” Watkins admitted. “It’s awesome seeing people still jumping in, enjoying the game, and bringing their friends along. At the same time, we can tell players want more—and that motivates us to keep building.”

Thanks to Arc Raiders’ success, Embark is now expanding and fine-tuning its team. With some distance from launch, the studio can better see what players love, what needs improvement, and where to focus next.

“Now we’ve got a clearer picture of what’s working and what isn’t,” Watkins said. “That helps us decide where to invest time, effort, and new ideas.”

Even with strong beta tests and wishlist numbers, the launch still caught the team off guard.

“The way it took off surprised all of us,” Watkins said. “And it’s not just launch week—the game has serious staying power. You’ll bump into teammates in the hallway like, ‘What is happening right now?’ We knew the game was fun, but this level of support has been incredibly humbling.”
